Overview

Radiology is a branch of medicine that deals with radiant energy in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. It is divided into two areas diagnostic radiology and interventional radiology. Those who specialize in radiology are radiologists, they are medical doctors who diagnose and treat injuries and diseases using medical imaging and tests like X-rays, CT scan, MRI, nuclear medicine, PET, and Ultrasound.

The Department of Radio-diagnosis at MNR, starting from its inception continues to play an essential and significant role in the overall healthcare and academic activities of the institution through excellence in image-based patient care (24/7), research, and education.

The department is well-equipped with various imaging equipment such as conventional and multi-slice whole-body CT scanners, ultrasound equipment with color Doppler, X-Ray machines like 500 MA X-Ray Unit with fluoroscopy, Portable X-Ray Units, and a mammography unit.

The department aims that the medical graduates be aware of the techniques and skills required to be undertaken in different situations to diagnose various ailments and prognostic estimations and learn about multiple imaging techniques, including isotopes CT, Ultrasound, MRI, and DSA. The department has an annual intake of eight postgraduates.
