Community Medicine is the branch of medicine that deals with the health of populations. Its purpose is to prevent diseases and to protect and promote the health and well-being of the community.
Training in Community Medicine aims at nurturing Primary Care Physicians who can recognize and manage common health problems in the community. The community-oriented Primary Care Physician will have the ability to identify, prioritize, and manage the community's health problems. As an IMG (Indian Medical Graduate), he/she would be an effective leader of the health team at the primary care level.
The Department of Community Medicine has always been committed to working for the community's welfare since 2001. It is an extensive department with the following activities -Teaching and Training; Research; Patient care in UHTC, RHTC; Outreach activities in nearby villages of Fasalwadi, Ismailkhanpet of Sangareddy, Telangana State.
The Department's infrastructure includes a museum, UG lab, research lab, library, and well-equipped demonstration room with all types of equipment for undergraduate and postgraduate students' teaching and training.
